“Gold and Silver Awards bagged by Ezdan Mall at the 2016 ICSC Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre and Retailer Awards”

Ezdan Mall General Manager Mr. Malik Qaiser Awan received the Gold Award for the Retail Professional of the Year 2016, in recognition of his vast contribution in the retail industry; and Silver Award in “Retail Excellence in Customer Service at the recently concluded 2016 ICSC Middle East and North Africa Shopping Center and Retailer Awards held during the RECon 2016 at Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dubai. Ezdan Mall, a subsidiary of Ezdan Holding Group, is also the finalist in the “Cause Related Marketing Award” category with its’ Green Dream 2022 entry.
The recognition ceremony was held in the framework of ICSC RECon MENA 2016 Conference and exhibition, a leading regional, educational and networking conference for the shopping center industry professionals, retailers and owners in the MENA Region.
These awards are granted by the International Council of Shopping Centers to recognize excellence within the region's shopping center industry. Awards are given for outstanding achievement in retail, marketing and design/development of retail properties and retail store design.
Commenting on this achievement, Ezdan Holding Group CEO Mr. Ali Mohammed Al-Obaidli said:” "Today’s recognition compels us to cherish the acclaimed reputation Ezdan Mall has achieved in maintaining excellence in services and quality offered to customers. We feel proud as it is the first project of the Group in this sector. Inaugurated in 2013, the Mall was able to win international esteemed awards in a short period of time, the fact that indicates the strength of our performance and confirms our decisions regarding local and regional expansion. "
Al-Obaidli added: "From the time Ezdan Holding Group decided to open up to diversification, it has adopted a clear vision to promote profitability through diverse of sectors instead of depending on one only, taking into account different ways to disperse risks. We believe in the importance of integration and in complementing the Group’s activities since as our goal is to cater to different segments of society needs and always keen to engage in sectors that promote welfare and prosperity."
Group CEO pointed out that the Group has recently announced other related project as it has acquired one of the most important tourism and entertainment projects in Qatar, the "Magical Festival Village". The Group has got up to 70% ownership of the project, stressing that Ezdan is strongly moving forward in the mall sector, aiming at expending its operations through two other projects and by taking the chic Ezdan Mall Gharafa as a role model.
"We are gearing up to gradually open the other two malls, Ezdan Mall Al-Wakrah that is the second largest mall of the Group, and Ezdan Mall Al-Wukair, of which the first phase was recently opened, attracting large turnout of visitors who flocked from the surrounding areas and hopefully will be a huge hit when opened completely”, he explained.
Year to date positive performance indicators
On the sidelines, General Manager Mr. Malik Qaiser Awan said: “This award is dedicated to those who have contributed to this success, starting from a paper idea to an executable reality, and those who have planned tirelessly so that Ezdan Mall becomes more than just a shopping centre, but a multi-services hub and the first family entertainment destination in the State of Qatar.”
Mr. Awan continued: “The two recognitions bagged by Ezdan Mall related to excellence in customer service, only confirms that we are gearing towards the right direction. Ezdan Mall has strong social and digital presence online, with 100,000 followers on Facebook, verified Twitter account aside from the increasing viewership and customer engagement with the other social media platforms such as Instagram. There is also a remarkable 19% increase in footfall year to year.
Mr. Awan added: “Our outstanding results demonstrate our exceptional capabilities in marketing our services and activities. This has put Ezdan Mall as is a social destination for families and customers people looking for a memorable shopping experience. We are keen to promote environmental concerns through awareness and education campaigns, such as the “Green Dream 2022” campaign, our famous initiative in Qatar that we have launched since the opening day, and we intend to spread it in the rest of Group malls.”
It should be noted that during the previous month of April, Ezdan Mall Company was awarded the (ISO 9001:2008) quality certification, internationally recognized in different areas, including information technology, quality management as well as the best services and professional practices framework provided to customers.
